We never imagined that being tucked away in a cozy private hot tub in the middle of the mountains to feel as magical as it looked in the photos. Well, it apparently does! And Chalet Al Foss is undeniably one of the best places to experience it for yourself. Located in the little village of Vermiglio that boasts stunning views of the proud peaks of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites, this mountain resort is the perfect getaway to unwind and relax. Also in our opinion, this is the PERFECT place to spark up that romantic fire, as the property is undeniably one of the most romantic stays in Europe.

HIGHLIGHTS :

Chalet Al Foss is a charming hotel in chalet style with the twist of modern thanks to elements like the heated infinity pool and newly furnished rooms that are seamlessly tailored into its authentic Tyrolean shell.

All bookings come with access to the Spa area including the pools and hot tubs. The restaurant also offers gorgeous mountain views.

ACCOMODATION :

Chalet Al Foss offers unique, traditionally furnished rooms with all the modern amenities and stunning views of the Cima Presanella, the highest peak in Trentino.

We split the stay between the Chalet Chic (Room 212) and the room Erica (Room 210).

The highlights of Chalet Chic included the panoramic shower and bathtub and the beautiful balcony with a swing that guarantees the best sunset over the Presanella.

The room Erica was more traditionally styled with a touch of modern functionality and came with a lovely balcony with mountain views.

SPA AND WELLNESS :

The Spa area at Chalet Al Foss includes an infinity pool, a big wooden tub with a fireplace and 4 smaller wooden tubs in the open area all of which are heated in the winter and offer stunning mountain views. This was our favourite part of the entire resort.

They have an indoor pool, 2 saunas, resting areas and showers in the Spa area. One of the Saunas, housed in a separate little wooden chalet offers panoramic views.

All of these, like we mentioned before, are accessible with every booking.

You can also book for messages and other treatments in advance at an additional cost.

DINNING :

The main restaurant and bar are open from 7.30 to 21.30 hr. They both offer mountain views and are a great way to start / end your day with happy bellies.

All bookings come with a breakfast in the restaurant included. The breakfast is à la carte and have options ranging from continental to local. We totally recommend the pancakes, because they are so moth wateringly out of this world!!!

They also offer a floating breakfast in the pool, breakfast in the tub and breakfast/brunch on a bed located on their lawn with stunning mountain views (Foss Breakfast / Brunch) or breakfast with the two Foss Alpacas – Happy and Bernard at an additional cost.

Lunch is served in the restaurant from 12hr to 18hr.

For dinner 3 choices are offered at Chalet Al Foss and the timing is 20.30 to 21.30hrs.

There is continental cuisine served in the main restaurant for which no reservation is needed. This is what we chose and can totally recommend what we ordered – penne with tomato sauce & bacon, ravioli with meat & cheese, baked potatoes which the chef seasoned with rosemary and herbs on our request. The Foss Sweet for dessert will not disappoint!

They also have a traditional Tyrolean restaurant that serves local delicacies for dinner. You must make a reservation by 18.00hrs on the day you want to enjoy this.

Looking for a more romantic and intimate option? The Gourmet Dinner for two in one of the little cozy wooden chalets is the way to go, especially in winter. Make a reservation by 12.00hr and enjoy the night. In summer you can also book a Poolside Dinner next to the infinity pool or a Chef’s Table in the garden for a romantic dining experience under the stars.
