Countries you can visit in Berlin

Yes, you read it right! It’s not a typing error! I did mean ‘Countries’!!
In the wake of the pandemic, where all dreams of exploring a foreign land got crushed, including plans to visit our parents back in India, we decided to go on a trip to the German capital city of Berlin!
While we were sure that Berlin had tons to offer, what we did not anticipate was an  ‘International Trip’ in the German Capital !
Curious much? Here are the countries ( other than German ofcourse ) we visited in Berlin :
London, United Kingdom
Who doesn’t know the iconic red telephone booths of London? It’s probably one of the first images that turns up when one searches for London on Google or Instagram ! Right?
In Berlin, you will find some of these icons studded across the city. The very first one was set up in Potsdamer Platz in 1881.
Today most of them function as little libraries from where you can borrow books under the BücherboXX Initiative by the Institute for Sustainability in Education, Employment and Culture! How cool is that?
Location : Turm Strasse, close to the bus stop ‘Tiergarten Rathaus’!
However I will be honest, this one was abandoned and much to our dismay, dirtied with graffiti all over! – That’s one of the things we disliked the most about this city that otherwise has so many beautiful things to offer – how dirty and destroyed some areas really are. Over tourism or bad mentality of its inhabitants, I don’t really know! But there are others you can find in the city as well.
Morocco
Moroccan feels much? An entire garden styled in Moroccan architecture and those world famous colourful tiles will have you excited at first sight. Throw in a couple of beautiful fountains – and beautiful would then be an understatement!
Turns out, it’s a popular spot for wedding, elopement and modelling shoots. We patiently waited as the professionals finished with their work to starting clicking some photos ourselves hehe.

Location : Oriental Garden, Gärten der Welt
China
Chinese architecture is one that has been tried and recreated one too many times I feel, including at Chinese Cuisine Restaurants. But the number of times I have seen it look authentic are extremely few!
In Berlin however, we were taken aback at how authentically the Chinese architecture was used to beautifully design the garden.
There is also a restaurant right in one of the buildings where you can enjoy great food and drinks!

Location : Chinese Garden, Gärten der Welt
Denmark
Familiar with the popular shipping docks of Coppenhagen? Truth be told, there are similar areas in Hamburg too, since it was formerly part of Denmark. But we did not expect to find one such spot hidden away at the back of a shopping mall in Berlin!
Location : Tempelhoferhafen
Walk along the side of the shopping complex to a wooden seating area located close to the dock! Grab a coffee or Crêpe from one of the stands nearby for a lovely evening treat 🥰
NYC, USA
Although Frankfurt am Main is known as the Manhattan of Germany, here’s a surprise!
Sing along to the Empire State of Mind, while you stroll through the streets of Potsdamer Platz! With some of the tallest buildings in the city, visit at night to experience the beautiful city lights!

Location : Bahnhof Potsdamer Platz
Hope you enjoyed reading this!! And anyone visiting Berlin, make sure you check these places out! Also, if we missed anything out, do mention them in the commnets 😊
